Phosphates in pool water
Phosphates are the food of algae and are generated to a greater extent in pools with salt electrolysis or active oxygen. That is why it is important to use maintenance products such as Phos Out to prevent algae proliferation in the pool.
Phosphates can be found in pool water due to:
- Climatic conditions
- Adhering swimmers
- Around the pool there is abundant vegetation
- Crop land around the pool
- Well water
If there is an excess of phosphates in the pool it will result in the appearance of yellow algae, they are very resistant to algaecides and disinfectants. So we recommend the following steps to eliminate phosphates and algae.
Eliminate phosphates in the swimming pool
1. If algae are present, remove them with Algiklean.
2. Analyze the phosphate level with Insta Test strips.
3. Calculate the dosage according to the level obtained and the volume of the pool.
Phosphate concentration | Dosage |
200 ppb | 0,3 L/ 100m³ |
500 ppb | 0,6 L/ 100m³ |
1000 ppb | 1,2 L/ 100m³ |
more than 2500 ppb | 2,4 L/ 100m³ |
4. Add Goldenflok to remove turbidity and filter for 24 hours.
5. After 24-48 hours the phosphates will have been removed from the water.
To avoid an excess of phosphates and therefore the proliferation of algae, we recommend adding a maintenance product. To keep the phosphate level below 125 ppb, add 0.3L/100m³ of water weekly.
Product for salt electrolysis pools
- Extends equipment life: Special chemicals formulated to be 100% compatible with electrolysis equipment. Does not deteriorate the titanium coated cell, making its useful life considerably longer.
- Healthy and respectful: 100% free of toxic metal ions harmful to health, swimming pool and salt electrolysis. Does not cause stains on walls, hair coloring (green or purple), or incrustations of any kind.
- Increases and improves performance: It does not degrade and is resistant to high concentrations of chlorine as it passes through the cell. Reinforces the equipment, in the most delicate moments, and with more demand of disinfectant.
- Facilitates maintenance: Improves the chemical characteristics of the water, transparency and salubrity. Reduces maintenance time and cost
