Measure swimming pool phosphate level

Phosphates are nutrients for microorganisms in the water and therefore contribute to the growth of algae in the pool. 

It is important to analyze the level and act in case of a level higher than 100 ppb to avoid algae proliferation, since it is difficult to remove them when they adhere to the walls and bottom of the pool. 

To determine the level we have Insta Test test strips, perfect for a quick and reliable analysis. 

Insta Test test strips components 

• 25 test strips
• Standard color chart packaging
• Scale of 0, 100, 200, 300, 300, 500, 1000 and 2500 
• Test bottle

How to use 

1. Fill the bottle with approximately 2.5 cm of water.
2. Take a strip from the bottle. Close the bottle and insert the strip into the sample bottle with the pads facing the inside of the bottle, do not bend the strip.
3. Close the sample bottle and turn it upside down 5 times so that the water moves from bottom to top homogeneously all over the strip.
4. Remove the cap and take out the test strip. 
5. Place the base of the sample tube in the white box of the color chart until it is the closest color to the sample.

Tips for storage

• Keep the tube tightly closed to prevent moisture from entering.
• Avoid picking up the strips with wet or damp hands.
• Store in a cool, dry place

Remove phosphates from the pool

Once the analysis has been carried out and the sample obtained has been compared with the color chart on the container, it is time to take action to eliminate the presence of phosphates.

If the level obtained is higher than 100 ppb we will use Phos Out phosphate remover and if the level is higher than 1000 ppb we will apply Phos Out 3XL phosphate remover.
