Within the filtration system of a swimming pool, selector valves play a crucial role. They are responsible for purifying the water through various functions such as filtration, washing, rinsing, recirculation, emptying and closing. Their correct operation is essential to keep the water clean and crystal clear.

The new generation of Astralpool's 6-way manual selector valves, known as New Generation, features an innovative improvement: the bayonet locking system, which replaces the traditional screws. This upgrade simplifies maintenance and prevents rust problems, ensuring optimal long-term performance.

This range of New Generation valves includes a "Top Eco" version intended for high pool filters where the pressure does not exceed 1.5 bar and with a maximum diameter of 380 mm.

Valve specially designed for use in above-ground pool filters. It allows the same operations as with a conventional New Generation valve.

Selector valve functions

• Filtration: normal operating position of the filtering machine (Pump - Valve - Filter - Return).
• Washing: used to wash the sand or glass filter (Pump - Valve - Filter (reverse direction) - Drain).
• Rinsing: it is always done after washing the filter (Pump - Valve - Filter - Drain).
• Recirculation: the water does not pass through the filter, it is used when you want to move the water but it does not pass through the filter because it is very dirty or because you want to distribute the product throughout the pool (Pump - Valve - Return).
• Empty: the pool water goes directly to the drain without passing through the filter (Pump - Valve - Drain).
• Closed: used to close the purifier circuit and this position is used in winter or for cleaning processes. No circulation. Never activate the pump in this position. 

Recommendations 

• To avoid water hammer, change the position of the selector valve with the pump disconnected.
• Do not use liquid Teflon in the connections. Use Teflon tape or flat gasket.
