Parameters to be analyzed
DPD 1 Rapid
- Analyzes free Chlorine: chemical component with disinfecting power
- Scale of free chlorine: 0.1,0.3,0.6,1.0,1.5,2.0,3.0
- Optimal value between 1 and 3 ppm
- <1 we will use chlorine tablets or granules or if the level is very low we will perform a shock chlorination.
- >3 increase the hours of filtration or use a chlorine or bromine neutralizer.
DPD 3 Rapid
- Analyzes total chlorine: free chlorine + residual chlorine (chemical component that has already lost disinfection power).
- Total chlorine scale: 0.1,0.3,0.6,1.0,1.5,2.0,3.0
- Optimal value between 0,5 - 1,5 ppm
- <0.5 we will use chlorine tablets or granules or if the level is very low we will perform a shock chlorination.
- >1.5 increase the hours of filtration or use a chlorine or bromine neutralizer.
Phenol Red
- Analyze the pH: acidity level of the pool water.
- pH scale: 6.8,7.0,7.2,7.4,7.4,7.6,7.8,8.2
- Optimum value 7.2 - 7.6 ppm
- If less than 7.2, use pH increaser.
- If higher than 7.6, use pH reducer.
Storage tips
- To keep the kit with the reagents, it is advisable to store them in a cool, dry place avoiding extreme temperatures.
- The expiration date of each reagent is specified on the blister.
- The DPD reagents are white, do not use them if they have a different color.
IMPORTANT: it is essential to first regulate the pH levels and then the chlorine levels. If chlorine is added without first regulating the pH, it will have no effect and clean water will not be obtained.
