Swimming pool variable speed drives: save energy and money
A variable frequency drive or variable speed drive is a device that allows to control the speed of an electric motor by adjusting the frequency of the electric current that feeds it.
Among the advantages or benefits of using a variable speed drive such as Saci's E-joy, the following can be mentioned:
Energy savings
By regulating the speed of the motor, it is possible to reduce the consumption of electrical energy compared to a motor running at constant speed. This translates into economic savings and a reduction in greenhouse gas emissions.
Increased precision in process control
Variable speed drives allow precise and constant motor speed adjustment, which is essential in many industrial processes, such as pharmaceutical, food and chemical manufacturing.
Reduced mechanical wear
By controlling motor speed, wear on mechanical components can be reduced, resulting in longer equipment life and reduced maintenance costs.
Control flexibility
Variable speed drives allow the motor speed to be adjusted in real time, providing greater flexibility in controlling the process and adapting to different operating conditions.
It is important to note that this variable speed drive can only be incorporated into three-phase pumps.
Two models of the [e]JOY variable speed control system are available:
- [e]JOY (MT2): single-phase input drive and three-phase pump output. It can be connected to an installation with single-phase current and the frequency inverter makes the conversion to three-phase output to the pump.
- [e]JOY (TT3-11): inverter with three-phase input and three-phase pump output.
Variable speed drives: increase the efficiency of your equipment
A frequency inverter adapts the motor speed to the real needs of the installation, thus reducing the electrical energy consumption of the system. By reducing the capacity of some accessories such as the filter or piping, additional savings can be obtained and the environmental impact reduced. In addition, thanks to more efficient filtration, fewer chemicals may be needed to maintain pool water quality.
