Magnum Lateral Selector Valve 3" Astralpool
At the heart of any efficient filtration system and vital to ensure crystal clear, clean water are the selector valves. These components play a crucial role in communicating to the purifier the desired actions to be performed: from filtration, flushing and rinsing, to recirculation, emptying and shutdown.
The Magnum series of selector valves has been meticulously designed to withstand high working pressures and to adapt to filters of considerable dimensions that require specialized connections. Their robustness and reliability make them indispensable in applications where continuous, trouble-free operation is required.

Selector valve functions
- Filtration: normal operating position of the filter unit (Pump - Valve - Filter - Return).
- Washing: used to wash the sand or glass filter (Pump - Valve - Filter (reverse direction) - Drain).
- Rinsing: it is always done after washing the filter (Pump - Valve - Filter - Drain).
- Recirculation: the water does not pass through the filter, it is used when you want to move the water but does not pass through the filter because it is very dirty or because you want to distribute the product throughout the pool (Pump - Valve - Filter - Return).
- Empty: the pool water goes directly to the drain without passing through the filter (Pump - Valve - Drain).
- Closed: used to close the purifier circuit and this position is used in winter or for cleaning processes. No circulation. Never activate the pump in this position.
Recommendations
- To avoid water hammer, change the position of the selector valve with the pump disconnected.
