Astralpool Classic Plus selector valve

One of the essential elements for a correct operation of the pool filtration system is the 6-way valve or selector valve. The function of this element is to tell the purifier the function you want to perform: filtration, washing, rinsing, recirculation, emptying and closing.

The functional design provides a wide range of possibilities of coupling to any installation ensuring a perfect tightness and a comfortable handling.

Change of the 90° elbow for vertical filter installation to a bend:

• lower pressure drop - reducing the pressure drop of the previous model by 15%-20%.

Change of the position of the body gasket to the distribution bell:

Repositioning of shaft seals to the cover:

Selector valve functions

• Filtration: normal operating position of the purifier. (Pump - Valve - Filter - Return)

• Washing: used to wash the sand or glass filter (Pump - Valve - Filter (reverse direction) - Drain).

• Rinsing: it is always done after a filter washing.  (Pump - Valve - Filter - Drain)

• Recirculation: the water does not pass through the filter, it is used when you want to move the water but it does not pass through the filter because it is very dirty or because you want to distribute the product throughout the pool. (Pump - Valve - Return)

• Emptying: the pool water goes directly to the drain without passing through the filter. (Pump - Valve - Drainage)

• Closed: it is used to close the filter circuit and this position is used in winter or for cleaning processes. No circulation. Never activate the pump in this position. 

Recommendations 

• To avoid water hammer, change the position of the selector valve with the pump disconnected.
• Do not use liquid Teflon in the connections. Use Teflon tape or flat gasket.
