Tangit PVC-U Glue

Tangit PVC-U is a special adhesive for strong and durable joints in rigid PVC pipes and profiles. If you have pressurized PVC fittings, it will be necessary to purchase the glue to glue the pipes. 

This glue has been specially designed for pipe joints, industrial piping, drainage pipes and drinking water pipes. 

Tangit adhesive sizes are available:

• Tangit Adhesive 125 g
• Tangit Adhesive 500 g with brush

Characteristics of Tangit glue

• Approximate density of 0.96 g/ml
• Viscosity 1800-3500 mPa - s
• Chemical resistance
• Temperature resistance: max. 60°C
• Suitable for clearances of up to 1 mm
• EN14680 and EN14814 certified

Tangit adhesive consumption

The following table shows the average amount of Tangit required to make 100 joints, depending on the pipe diameter:

Instructions for use Tangit glue 

1. Mark on the pipe the depth to be inserted into the sleeve to know the surface to be glued.
2. Clean the surface to be glued
3. Apply with the brush an even and uniform layer of Tangit in a longitudinal direction, from the inside out, first on the sleeve and then on the inner pipe. We recommend the following dimensions for the application brush:

4. Insert the pipe as far as it will go into the sleeve, without exerting torque, holding the assembly steady for a few seconds until the adhesive hardens.
5. Remove the excess adhesive with absorbent paper and do not move the pipes for 5 minutes. 

The use of the pipes and pressure tests should not be carried out until 24 hours after gluing.

We recommend purging and flushing the pipes that are not to be put into service immediately and if possible keep them filled with water.
