Description
ORP control probe
ORP stands for Oxidation and Reduction Potential, it is a measure to determine the effectiveness of the water disinfectant. It is widely used in the swimming pool sector to determine the efficiency of chlorine.
It determines the ability of a substance to oxidize or reduce another substance. These two processes involve the transfer of electrons and ORP measures the potential of these two reactions.
ORP is measured through a probe consisting of an ORP electrode and a reference electrode. One of the probes is made of platinum and the other of silver. Between these two electrodes a signal is sent that determines the oxidation and reduction potential.
It is an important element to measure as it determines the effectiveness of chlorine, it is not so important how much chlorine there is but that there is chlorine that has a good performance.
It is a Redox probe suitable for laboratories in general, swimming pools, monitoring of water equipment.
Astralpool Redox calibration kit
