Selector Valves New Generation 

In a pool filtration system, the 6-way valve or selector valve is an essential component. Its main function is to communicate to the filtering system the specific task to be carried out: filtration, washing, rinsing, recirculation, emptying or closing.

Astralpool's new range of 6-way manual selector valves, known as New Generation, features a number of significant improvements. One of these is the innovative bayonet locking system, which replaces the traditional screws. This upgrade not only makes maintenance easier, but also prevents rust problems, ensuring optimal long-term performance.

Selector valve functions

• Filtration: normal operating position of the filtering machine (Pump - Valve - Filter - Return)
• Backwash: used for backwashing the sand or glass filter (Pump - Valve - Filter (reverse direction) - Drain).
• Rinsing: it is always done after washing the filter (Pump - Valve - Filter - Drain).
• Recirculation: the water does not pass through the filter, it is used when you want to move the water but does not pass through the filter because it is very dirty or because you want to distribute the product throughout the pool (Pump - Valve - Filter - Return).
• Empty: the pool water goes directly to the drain without passing through the filter (Pump - Valve - Drain).
• Closed: used to close the purifier circuit and this position is used in winter or for cleaning processes. No circulation. Never activate the pump in this position. 

Recommendations 

• To avoid water hammer, change the position of the selector valve with the pump disconnected.
• Do not use liquid Teflon in the connections. Use Teflon tape or flat gasket.
