In any pool filtration system, the selector valve is an essential component that directs the functions of the filtering system, from filtration to washing, rinsing, recirculation, emptying and closing.

Improvements to the Classic Plus valve have made it an even more reliable and efficient choice, with more environmentally sustainable performance and simplified maintenance.

In addition to these improvements, adjustments have been made to the hydraulic system to optimize its operation:

• Replacement of the 90° installation elbow with a bend in vertical filters, which significantly reduces head loss (by 15%-20% compared to the previous model), improves filter performance and reduces pump power requirements.
• Repositioning of the body gasket to the distribution bell, facilitating maintenance and preventing dirt accumulation.
• Repositioning of the shaft seals toward the cover, reducing the possibility of friction damage, improving ergonomics and requiring less force to operate the valve.

Selector valve functions

• Filtration: normal operating position of the purifier. (Pump - Valve - Filter - Return)

• Washing: used to wash the sand or glass filter (Pump - Valve - Filter (reverse direction) - Drain).

• Rinsing: it is always done after a filter washing.  (Pump - Valve - Filter - Drain)

• Recirculation: the water does not pass through the filter, it is used when you want to move the water but it does not pass through the filter because it is very dirty or because you want to distribute the product throughout the pool. (Pump - Valve - Return)

• Emptying: the pool water goes directly to the drain without passing through the filter. (Pump - Valve - Drainage)

• Closed: it is used to close the filter circuit and this position is used in winter or for cleaning processes. No circulation. Never activate the pump in this position. 

Recommendations 

• To avoid water hammer, change the position of the selector valve with the pump disconnected.
• Do not use liquid Teflon in the connections. Use Teflon tape or flat gasket.
