The collector arm, also known as a crepina, is an essential component of the pool filter and plays a crucial role in the filtration system. Located at the bottom of the filter, its function is to distribute the water evenly through the filter media (sand or glass) and collect it once cleaned, to redirect it to the pool's circulation system.
In addition, the crepins act as a barrier that allows the filtered water to pass through, but retain the particles of the filter media, preventing this material from escaping along with the water. This design ensures efficient filtration and optimal system performance, keeping the pool water clean and crystal clear.
When changing the filter media, which is usually done every 5-6 years, it is essential to check the condition of the collector arms. If the crepins are clogged or damaged, water flow will be affected, which will negatively impact the filtration system. In addition, if they are broken or worn, they can allow sand or glass to seep in and be expelled through the pool nozzles, compromising water quality.
We have a wide variety of models with different lengths for you to choose from depending on the compatibility with your pool filter.
The collector arms have 3/4” male thread dimensions and the slot size is 0.3 mm.
