Description
ORP electrode
ORP stands for Oxidation and Reduction Potential, it is a measure to determine the effectiveness of the water disinfectant. It is widely used in the pool industry to determine the effectiveness of chlorine.
It determines the ability of a substance to oxidize or reduce another substance. These two processes involve the transfer of electrons and ORP measures the potential of these two reactions.
ORP is measured through a probe consisting of an ORP electrode and a reference electrode. One of the probes is made of platinum and the other of silver. Between these two electrodes a signal is sent that determines the oxidation and reduction potential.
It is an important element to measure as it determines the effectiveness of chlorine, it is not so important how much chlorine there is but that there is chlorine that has a good performance.
It is an ORP probe suitable for laboratories in general, swimming pools, monitoring of water equipment.
This ORP sensor or probe is an original spare part for CTX MyPool dosing pumps and comes with a 5 meter cable.
Replace the damaged or malfunctioning electrode with the original CTX replacement and be sure to get a correct measurement of the ORP.
