Description
PVC Adhesive
Cepex glue is the perfect adhesive for joining rigid PVC-U pipes and fittings. If you have pressurized PVC fittings it will be necessary to purchase the glue to glue the pipes.
This adhesive has been specially designed for joining pipes, drainage pipes and drinking water pipes.
Two sizes of Cepex adhesive are available:
- Cepex adhesive 500 ml
- Cepex adhesive 1 l
Both the 500 ml and 1000 ml containers include a brush for a more convenient application.
We recommend purchasing Cepex rigid PVC-U accessories to ensure proper sealing and performance of the installation.
Gluing instructions
- Determine pipe length
- Cut the pipe: ensure a cut perpendicular to the pipe axis, using the appropriate tools.
- Clean the tube and fittings with cleaning solvent. Use absorbent paper or a clean cloth. The surface should be matte.
- Check the glue: after shaking it should flow easily. Store the glue in a cool, dry place.
- Use a suitable brush and apply the glue to the tube and fitting in a thin layer in an axial direction from the inside out.
- Join fitting and tube: within 1 minute after applying the glue, push in as far as it will go without twisting. Hold for a few seconds and remove excess glue.
- Allow the joint to dry without moving it for 5 minutes.
- Drying time: depends on the ambient temperature and the tolerance of the accessories. It is recommended not to apply pressure higher than 1.5 bar before 24 hours.
In temperatures below -5ºC first remove condensation or ice. The adhesive should be at room temperature and the joint should remain at about 25ºC for 30 min.
